Bay Area median home price fell 2.3% last year, first annual drop since 2011

San Francisco Chronicle business writer Kathleen Pender interviewed Abio Properties agent Shannon Prokup about Bay Area median home prices, which fell in 2019 for the first full year since 2011. Yet the Oakland-Berkeley submarket stayed strong. Shannon explained that a 1-bath, 2-bedroom home she listed on Ashby Avenue in Berkeley for $825,000 attracted more than 400 people during a recent weekend of open houses.
