Warmest Holiday Wishes

Happy Holidays from Abio Properties

The Abio Properties family wishes you a healthy, happy, socially-distanced, curve-flattening holiday season and New Year! (New year? Yes, please!)

We can't wait to say buh-bye to 2020 and helloooo to 2021, when we hope to close deals with handshakes, congratulate clients with big hugs, and hand over the keys to your new home face-to-face!

Before the pandemic hit, we considered ourselves experts on the true meaning of "home." But when we were forced to quarantine in ours, the idea of "home" took on a whole new significance. More than a shelter, it became a classroom, an office, a gym, a sourdough bakery, a TikTok dance studio, a pandemic puppy nursery, a jigsaw puzzle research facility, an experimental isolation laboratory.

What a year!

In 2020, we helped clients buy bigger houses to accommodate this new cramped togetherness. We supported first-time buyers trading in their tiny San Francisco apartments for suburban bungalows with real backyards. We helped clients sell their houses and migrate to Tahoe, The Sea Ranch, Washington, the East Coast, Mexico, and beyond. We helped people purchase vacation homes so they could work and school remotely while immersed in coastal and mountain scenery.

It's been a year not soon forgotten. And while our homes and holiday celebrations might look a bit different, the meaning of the season remains the same:

Love. Joy. Peace.

That is exactly what we wish for you now and in 2021!

Join Abio Properties in Giving Back

In the spirit of the season, we invite you to join Abio Properties in spreading love, joy, and peace by supporting East Bay families struggling with housing and food insecurity, job loss, health concerns, and other challenges. Learn more about our Abio Cares philosophy, featured in this Dec. 25 Realty Times article.

Consider donating to some of Abio's favorite charities in the East Bay:

  • Pandemic of Love  – Connecting people in need with patrons who can help. The Abio Properties brokerage donated children's toys, essential items, and grocery gift cards to six families this month, including a senior in need of dental care and a single mother in a local shelter with a child who has disabilities and relies on a feeding tube.
  • Youth Uprising – A neighborhood hub in East Oakland offering young people services and programs to increase physical and mental wellbeing, community connection, educational attainment, and career achievement.
  • Alameda County Community Food Bank – With food insecurity doubling because of COVID-19, donations and volunteers are needed.
  • Monument Crisis Center – Providing emergency food distribution and youth and senior programs to Contra Costa County’s residents in need.
  • Diablo Ballet’s PEEK Outreach Program – Bringing arts education to underserved children and at-risk teens.
  • UCSF Benioff Children's Hospital – Programs include the annual toy drive (which went virtual this year) and an Amazon Wish List campaign.
  • Youth Alive! – An Oakland nonprofit focused on helping young victims of violence heal, preventing violence, and nurturing young leaders.

Also, watch for announcements about our annual local One Warm Coat drive coming in January.

With gratitude,

Your Abio Properties Family

Abio Properties Knows How to Party

We Abios were not about to let a pandemic ruin our annual holiday party! It was Zoom-perfect with an ugly sweater contest and festive backgrounds (kudos to Realtor Shannon Kelly for her "2020 dumpster fire" background). We even got Zoom-bombed by live lobsters (via Realtor Mariah Bradford, pictured in the center). Of course, we were sad to cancel our other holiday tradition, the Ice Skating with Santa event for our fav clients, families, and friends. We miss you and can't wait to see you in person in 2021!
