What’s in Abio’s Special Sauce? Get the Formula From This REALTOR Magazine Article About Why Clients Love Our East Bay Real Estate Experts

Our very own co-founder, Cameron Platt, was featured in the May/June issue of Realtor Magazine for expert work as an East Bay real estate agent!

Cameron’s thoughtful, hands-on and concierge approach to East Bay real estate earned him a spot in an article about “How I Chose My Agent,” told through the eyes of satisfied sellers and buyers.

It was East Bay seller Julie Johnson who shared the story of her trust in Cameron, co-creator of Abio Properties, based in Oakland and Lafayette. Cameron and wife/real estate partner Nicole Platt came into Julie's life at an intensely stressful time marked by her layoff from a longtime job, two years of breast cancer treatment and the need to sell her four-bedroom house in the East Oakland Hills to ensure her financial security.

The story behind the story is that Cameron and Nicole managed the big job of getting the house market-ready – inspections, repairs and staging – a daunting task for Julie, who needed to focus on finding an apartment. Nicole orchestrated inspections and $20,000 worth of repairs, while Cameron worked on Julie's behalf to convince contractors to defer part of the payments until closing.

In the end, Julie's house received 10 offers and sold for $100,000 over the $545,000 asking price!

As Julie told Realtor Magazine, “For me, it was ‘selling a house for dummies’ because I knew nothing, and he took me every step of the way. It was just pure customer service.”

“We pride ourselves on providing concierge-level service,” Cameron told the magazine, “which is important to people like Julie who are in stressful situations.”

You really can see Cameron’s and Julie’s mutual admiration in their shared hug that was pictured in the magazine.

Looking back at the article, Cameron emphasized that this deal was a team effort. "There is no way to give this level of service without a great support team," he said. "Luckily, I have that in Nicole, who handles the operations side, and our awesome Abio Properties staff, which keeps us all in line."
